 Intro to TaiJi Chuan

Do you run, bike, swim or walk 4-5 times a week?

Is your exercise and fitness routine based on sports like golf, tennis, triathlons, and road races?

Do you focus on burning calories, logging miles or yards, and improving your times?

Are you experiencing performance plateaus, joint pain, reduced range of motion, and a general sense of overuse, depletion, and frustration about your fitness level and everyday feeling of wellness?

TIME TO ADD A NEW TWIST TO YOUR REGULAR ROUTINE!

Give Taiji Chuan A Try!

Despite common American perceptions, Taiji Chuan is NOT for elderly retired people only.  Throughout Asia, Taiji Chuan is practiced by people of ALL ages.  As a fundamental martial arts-based program, this discipline benefits people at all ages and levels of fitness.  The benefits are not just strength, balance, and range of motion, but a whole host of internal and external physiological and psychological concerns that are deeply connected to your sense of well being such as:
Ability to use your mind to train the body
Meditation in motion to improve your focus
Better musculoskeletal alignment
Improved balance
Full body strengthening
Relaxation
Circulation
Better range of motion
Improved Coordination
Alertness
Preventing accidents. Injury and sickness
Higher energy levels throughout the day

No Pain All Gains!

The "no pain no gain" culture has resulted in too many injuries, and rigid perceptions of what "real" exercise is.   You will be surprised at how demanding the practice of Taiji Chuan actually is.  While you won't see lots of red faces, sweating, grunting and obvious exhaustion, you will be physically and mentally challenged like never before.  However, you will experience an INCREASE in energy and DECREASE in soreness, pain, and depletion.  The gains you get without pain will amaze you.

In the workshop we will review fundamentals of this practice as well as frequently asked questions such as:

What does Taiji mean?

How is it different from Taiji Sword, Taiji Pushing Hand, or Taiji Saber?

So what dose "Chuan" mean also?

Come explore this ancient practice of strength, well-being, and mind focus exercise!
